Pasta in grilled toast
The Review
The Spaghetti Melt Jaffle is a very interesting and unique meal. Unfortunately, the pasta was extremely overcooked(I guess it is supposed to be a smooth butter/jam for the inside of my sandwich?), the remaining filling not really being able to let me taste much flavour. It felt like I was eating marginally flavoured toast.
It takes on the appearance of a home-made grilled sandwich but the guy making it had left over pasta from a week ago he had to finish. Which is funnily enough very endearing to me. The Jaffles were placed in a small metal tin reminding me of my time as a child in Singapore having similar looking metal plates at my grandma's house, it even came with parts of it's outer layer chipped off really taking me back.
The service of the Jaffle Shack was great, with their staff being friendly and kind.
Costs $10 it is a very good option if you want something different and cheap.
The interior walls are beige with a dark wooden floor and wooden furnishings, this made me feel quite cozy, however I am not sure if I was in the Jaffle Shack section or the Cafe Fleur section as both restaurants are combined as one.
The Cliff Notes
Pros: costs 10 not including gst, is very unique pasta sandwich, very cheesy, pasta with the toast is very nice, pasta filling is very nice and unique, toast is very crispy, portion size is ok
Cons: costs extra 2 for chicken, the pasta itself doesnt taste that good, the pasta is extremely soft and overcooked, no strong flavours to tie in the plain pasta filling,
Pasta: Spaghettini
